Community Workshops at the Youth Garden
While many of our learning opportunities are youth-focused, YGP wants to provide a space and opportunities for life-long learning. Each year, we host a series of workshops, some free and some by-donation, to connect adults to their local food system.
Do you have a skill or passion you’d like to share with the Moab community that is gardening or cooking-related? We are always looking for folks interested in leading new workshops – give us a call at 435.259.2326 or email jade@youthgardenproject.org!
Growing a Circular and Sustainable Garden
With Diane Ackerman
This event is free! No RSVP required.
Saturday, September 27th @10am
Diane will highlight the value of building soils and other techniques for garden resiliency in a hotter climate. She will dig into expanding gardens to include perennial vegetables like asparagus and rhubarb as well as fruit & berries. Finally, she will introduce basic seed-saving techniques and the planning involved in saving vegetable seed.
It’s Diane’s hope to explore the idea that garden work can be rewarding beyond growing great food. We will take a look around us and realize how our gardens improve our environment and ourselves.
